Course Description

Systemic inflammation is a driving force behind many chronic diseases, and its impact extends well beyond the organ in question — including the eyes. This course connects the dots between systemic and ocular health, providing primary care optometrists and ophthalmologists with the tools to identify early signs, understand underlying mechanisms, and implement effective interventions.

You’ll learn how to recognize ocular manifestations of systemic inflammatory conditions, evaluate lifestyle and environmental risk factors, and communicate clearly with patients about the relationship between inflammation, disease progression, and vision loss.

Through real-world clinical examples, you’ll gain confidence in linking systemic health to eye health, empowering you to deliver more comprehensive care — and earn CME credit while you do it.
